The castle used to be the largest one at the Baltic Sea.

The castle is situated on a granite rock. There is no well so one had to collect rain water.

The famous princess Leonora Christina and her husband were imprisoned here for political reasons.
They managed to escape!

The Swedish coast can be seen in the distance. But the two refugees were unable to get there.
And they were soon captured.
